I’ve chosen to share three articles from the front page of the March 9, 1933, Western World for this week’s history stories.

I found a great story in Dow Beckham’s book, Bandon-by-the-Sea, about the local Life-Saving Station, later referred to as the Coast Guard.

Eddie Rodriguez of Albany and Sailor Hutton of Bandon were the individual champions in the 43rd Prefontaine Memorial Run on Saturday in Coos Bay.

The Langlois Lions Club is hosting a Grand Trifecta, August 24th and 25th, Saturday and Sunday from 9 to 4 pm, at the club house 48136 Floras Lake Loop, just south of Langlois on the right, off Hwy 101.
