Holiday Craft Fair at the Langlois Lions Club

Holiday Craft Fair at the Langlois Lions Club

Start the season with a visit to the 28th Annual Holiday Craft Fair at the Lions Hall on Floras Lake Loop Road just south of Langlois.  The fair will be held on Friday and Saturday, November 22nd and 23rd, from 9:00 AM to 4 PM and is sponsored by the Langlois Lions and the Friends of the Langlois Library

Talented South Coast artists and craftspeople will be displaying a fabulous array of crations which will make shopping for holiday gifts a pleasure.  Whether you are looking for a gift of wood, metal, fiber or locally grown food, you will find unique and surprising gifts at the Langlois Holiday Craft Fair.

Bring a friend and treat yourself to a lunch by our own World Famous Sandie McDonald.  Friday, Sandie is serving her chicken dumpling soup & bread, and on Saturday, Swedish meatball soup & bread.  Green salad & vegetarian options are available

Look for Craft Fair signs on Highway 101.  Parking is plentiful.  Great shopping, food and friends!  Questions: 541-248-2242 or 541-348-2507 Read more about Holiday Craft Fair at the Langlois Lions Club

Library to open again soon

Langlois LIbrary Re Opens.

LANGLOIS LIBRARY RE-OPENS

We are open again! Thanks to gifts of $1000 each from two angels and a grant of $3000 from the Friends of LPL, the Langlois Public Library is pleased to announce our new hours. Beginning Friday, September 27, you may visit the library on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 11 AM to 6 PM. We will add more open days later in the year.

Denise Willms, Director of the Port Orford Library, has signed a contract to manage the Langlois Public Library following the resignation of former Library Director Karen Schaefer. The Library Board is so grateful for Denise’s skills, energy and enthusiasm which she will apply to creating the financial and organizational stability we need before searching for a permanent Director.

The BoaAnchorrd also wants to acknowledge the overwhelming support of our library community at the special meeting September 18. Special guests included the State Librarian of Oregon Jennifer Patterson, former
Langlois Library Director Nancy Angelesco and representatives of the Bandon, Port Orford, and Gold Beach libraries.

We urge the community to show their support as well by volunteering to fill the vacancy on the Library Board or by helping out at the Library. The Friends of LPL also need volunteers to sit on the Friends’ Board or to assist at fund-raising events.

Live Culture Coast

October 18-27, 2019

Southern Oregon Coast

You’re invited to the first annual Live Culture Coast, a sensory celebration of fermentation, creativity & exploration that takes along the southernmost 135 miles of the Oregon Coast, from Reedsport to Brookings.

Live Culture Coast (October 18–27, 2019) isn’t a single event, but a menu 75-plus hands-on experiences focused on art, food, nature and adventure. Hosted by the makers, creators, and entrepreneurs of the Southern Oregon Coast, the experiences take place at shores, trails, farms, towns, restaurants, galleries, and businesses. Come for a long weekend or a week. Sign up for one experience or five. To learn more and register, head over to liveculturecoast.com.

The 10-day celebration follows a choose-your-own-itinerary format: Forage for wild mushrooms with a farmer. Read roadside poetry or make a serigraph print. Learn about fermentation, cask ales, brewing or aromatic bitters. Ride a fat-tire bike on the beach. Hike with your five senses. Indulge in a lake-to-table meal.

Live Culture Coast also gives travelers easy ways to explore the best of the Southern Oregon Coast, including the Wild Rivers Coast Food Trail, and outdoor gems like the Oregon Coast Trail, the Whiskey Run Mountain Bike Trails, the Coquille River Water Trail, and the Wild Rivers Coast Scenic Bikeways.
