Come dance to some music, learn about bees and herbs, find some organically grown flower, vegetable, or herb starts to add to your garden (as well as many more types of plants)!!

Live music, educational presentations, and local vendors on Earth Day (April 22nd).

Interesting Langlois- 'Cat' astrophe

The Langlois Public Library presents an Interesting Langlois event, ‘Cat’ astrophe with Nancy Stokes on April 26th from 6pm to 7pm at the Langlois Public Library. This event will focus on the Feral Cats – TNR (Trap Neuter Release) Program. TNR is a humane method for effectively managing cat populations. Join Nancy, a retired horticulturist and lifelong friend to animal rescue; in addressing the ‘Cat’ astrophe in our community. Coffee and snacks will be provided. The Curry County Community Development Department is hosting a discussion-based workshop to learn about your ideas for the best use of the County’s 500+ acres of forested land near Floras Lake.  Property information and options will be offered with an opportunity for you to share your thoughts.    

 

Pacific High government students will be helping out and the 2018 graduates will be offering hot dogs, chips and soda; a suggested $3.00 donation would be most appreciated.

An Evening with Prize-Winning Novelist Molly Gloss

Molly Gloss is a fourth-generation Oregonian who lives in Portland. She is the author of five novels: The Jump-Off Creek, The Dazzle of Day, Wild Life, The Hearts of Horses, and Falling From Horses. Her awards include the Oregon Book Award, a Pacific Northwest Booksellers Award, the PEN West Fiction Prize, the James Tiptree Jr. Award; and a Whiting Writers Award. Her work often concerns the landscape, literature, mythology and life of the American West.

 

Crow Quill Night Owls

The Crow Quill Night Owls are coming back to Langlois to play a night of ole’ timey, ragtime, blues, jazz, and stomp; Saturday April 8th at the Langlois Cheese Factory. There’s a $13 charge at the door (to cover the event costs), but under 15 get in free. Spread the word --- everyone is welcome!

  • The Crow Quill Night Owls are a band that plays jug band ,jazz, and string band music of the 1920s and 1930s.

  • They were formed in 2007 by guitarist Kit "Stymee" Stovepipe and tenor banjoist" Windy City " Alex.

  • They have since added Baylin Adahere on washtub bass.

  • The band also has a washboard percussionist.
